Grief Counselors

In the event of an athlete's death, NSSO will help the fallen athlete's family and friends cope with the athlete's death. NSSO will find one or more certified grief counselors in your area.

NSSO's grief counselors are certified through The American Academy of Grief Counseling at the American Institute of Health Care Professionals. This organization provides training, certification, a code of ethics and continuing education for grief counselors. Counselors will have a degree in Counseling, Human Services, Social Services, Psychology, Human Behavior, be a licensed Funeral Director, Registered Nurse, Pastoral Counselor in Active Ministry, or a Licensed and ordained Minister.
